DEAD OF WINTER WORKS, SERIES #1 -6
Six solo artists or artist groups have been invited to execute aural-visual works in the Splatterpool main gallery space during the 'Dead of Winter' months. The title refers to a time period (December through February) when artists introspectively focus all of their individual and collective energies on completing works to be presented the upcoming season.
This series is meant to encourage artist to explore the usage and engagement of a gallery space, like Splatterpool, through the exposition of either a work-in-progress or a recently completed performance/installation piece. Each sound installation will remain on view for one weekend folloing an opening live performance by the featured artist during the preceding week.

DOWW #6 with Sarah Lipstate is scheduled to open Feb. 24th and remain on view in the space, Feb 26th & 27th. The rescheduled date for DOWW #2 with Shelley Burgon is March 24th, 2011 and will remain on view, March 26th & 27th. Please see www.splatterpool.com for more information.
